HAPPY MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL 2022

Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Reunion Festival, falls on the full moon day of the 8th month (August 15) of the lunar calendar every year.

On this day, people set up a feast with moon-shaped fruit cakes, hang lanterns and flowers, dance, sing, and do lion dances very jubilantly. Many places also organize cake making and five-fruit tray making competitions. In addition, children on this day are given gifts and their own trays to enjoy and have fun.

Vietnamese people also often use this day to show respect to their grandparents and parents with gifts and greetings. Moon cakes are one of the meaningful gifts.

According to Vietnamese custom, on Mid-Autumn Festival night, all family members want to gather together to make offerings to their ancestors. When night falls, the ground is filled with golden moonlight, the villages gather together to drink green tea, eat cakes, watch the moon and display fruits and candies for children to play, procession of lanterns, lion dance, look at the moon, break the feast… This is a good opportunity for children and grandchildren to show gratitude to their parents and grandparents and for people to show their care for each other.

According to ancient beliefs, Mid-Autumn Festival is also an opportunity for people to look at the moon to predict harvests and national destiny. If the Autumn moon is yellow, that year will have a good silkworm season; if the Autumn moon is blue or green, there will be natural disasters that year, and if the Autumn moon is bright orange, the country will be prosperous.

We wish our customers a happy and warm Mid-Autumn Festival with their families. We hope that customers will continue to accompany us in the next steps!
